Patricia Overstreet is a graduate of Mississippi State University with both a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Educational Leadership and Administration degree. For over 25 years, Mrs. Overstreet has supported students and teachers as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist and elementary principal. Prior to becoming the Student Information System Administrator, she served Cumberland County Schools as the PK - 12th grade Mathematics Instructional Coach. Building positive relationships, honesty, and balance are important to her both inside and outside of the school building.
A student information system (SIS) is a management information system for education establishments to manage student data. Student information systems provide capabilities for registering students in courses, documenting grading, transcripts, results of student tests and other assessment scores, building student schedules, tracking student attendance, and managing many other student-related data needs in a school. Some of the services provided by a SIS include:
- Maintenance and reporting of student data
- Handling inquiries from prospective students and parents
- Handling the admissions process
- Enrolling new students and enabling online scheduling
- Creating class and teacher schedules
- Handling records of examinations, assessments, marks, grades and academic progression
- Maintaining records of absences and attendance
- Maintaining discipline records
- Providing statistical reports
- Communicating student details to parents or other authorized persons through the Family Access portal
- Special Education / Individual Education Plan (IEP) services
- Career services management for student portfolios and matching with potential employers
- Student health records
- Transportation Management
- Food Service records and online payments
